The Fujitsu Laptop Computer
The Fujitsu Laptop Computer is probably the least known of the world-wide best selling laptop brands in the United States. The Fujitsu Lifebook is the line name.
It includes a line of Fujitsu tablet PCs. These are actually a line of thin and light notebooks with an optional touch screen feature and a special hinge for the screen. They come in 12.1 and 13.3 inch screen models and feature Intel core i3, core i5, and core i7 processors. The prices range from $1199 to over $2500 for a top end customized model. The Thin & Light models feature the same Intel processors found in the tablet models which are listed again in this group. The models that aren't tablets have 13.3 to 14.1 inch screens. They range in price from $799 to over $2500 for the top end customizable model. The Desktop Replacement group has 15.6 inch models with one 18,4 inch model priced at $1399. It has a core i7 processor and a reasonable graphics card. If you are a gamer though, note that the video card is not direct x 11 compliant. The 15.6 models range from Intel core i3 to core i7 processors. Nvidia graphics are available in the customizable model. Prices range from $699 for the i3 model to over $2500 for a customizable model with all the bells and whistles. Ultra-portable laptops are the next group. There are two models. One is an 11.6 inch screen with a single core AMD Athlon II Neo processor. It costs $599. The other model is a customizable 12.1 inch model with an ultra low voltage Intel core i7 processor. Interestingly, the pre-configured model is less expensive than the cheapest customizable machine with better hardware. This model starts at $1649 and can go up to about $3000. The final Fujitsu laptop computer group is their Mini-Notebook computers. There are two models. One is a fairly typical 10.1 inch model featuring an Intel Atom processor that costs $449. The other model also has the Intel Atom processor but it has a 5.6 inch display, a 62 GB. solid state drive, built in GPS, and 2 GB. of ram. It lists at $999. The Fujitsu laptop computer website differs from the Acer and MSI, Asus, and Samsung websites because it offers direct sales. The website allows more customization than the Apple website, about the same as the Lenovo, Sony, and Toshiba websites. The Dell and HP websites allow more customization. Everything I have heard about Fujitsu Lifebook computers from people who have them has been positive. On the basis of what I have seen on their website, the equipment levels are generally good but the amount of ram and size of the hard drives on the customizable models is not what I would expect in a good modern computer. When you start to customize these Fujitsu computers the price increases quite quickly. You will pay several hundred dollars to get up to the level you start at for most other companies. I don't think I would recommend that anyone buy a Fujitsu laptop computer.
