The Best Laptop Computer for Cheri

The best laptop computer for Cheri is what I call entry level laptop.

Cheri was modeled on my friend who is now a second year college student. We selected what I consider the best laptop for most people who need one, an entry level laptop when he was starting college. If we had a bigger budget, we might have bought a better processor-- it would have moved the notebook computer into my best quality laptop, an upper end machine.

We could move to the equivalent of what was the cheapest of the upper end processors then and end up at just about the same price today. Sales of computers aren't as good as the manufacturers had hoped. The laptop computer I just priced included some give aways that they usually charge for.

I'm told that this computer runs Worlds of Warcraft as fast or faster than laptop computers other students bought as "mainstream," but not top of the line gaming laptops. It has a 15 inch screen and hasn't been a problem to take to class. Students with a 17 inch notebook computer avoid taking those computers to places they don't need to.

The student says that other students with what I've called bare bones get by, but in science or engineering, just barely. Most who game or program want to upgrade. Liberal arts majors who don't do a lot of graphics on their laptop computers seem more satisfied with the bare bones laptop level.

All the college students I've talked to think a net book or mini laptop is way cool, but they really aren't that good for doing any work on.

In an expensive school with a relatively wealthy student body, some of the students with heavier laptop computers have started to use mini-laptops in class and transfer files to and from their primary laptop.

You have to remember though, the ones I've heard about are mostly computer science majors. As a group, you could say that they love linnux, whether they run it or not on their primary computer. These are also the people on forums and free help sites who answer questions about how to use files on, or transfer files from net books running Ubuntu as the operatingsystem.

Over all, an entry level 15 inch notebook is the best laptop computer for a college student in engineering or science.
